"UMA Life September issue has arrived."

I have the September issue of UMA Life at hand.

I have purchased this magazine a few times in the past, but I am surprised by the thinness of the magazine this time.

(I imagined that there must be various difficulties in continuing to publish a magazine.)

And my heart danced to the painting gracing the cover of the September issue.

It's Anton Mauve's "Morning Ride along the Beach".

Facing the sea, there is one gentleman in the forefront.

In the background, there are three figures, men and women.

All three are wearing top hats, not helmets.

What kind of people are they, who dress like this and take a horse for a walk?

I also paint a bit in oils, and I understand that painting animals, especially horses, is challenging.

I couldn’t manage to paint the horse at all. Foreseeing this, my studio instructor suggested taking a break from oil painting and

revisiting charcoal sketching.

Since then, I have been studying sketching for several years.

Maybe that’s why I was drawn to this painting..

(I was captivated, thinking it would be nice to paint like this.)

Now, onto the main content of the book, although each part only seems to be allocated a few pages,

the content seems enriching despite the limited allocation.

In the September issue, I felt a strong passion from the writers and editors.

(I was impressed, thinking they are doing a great job.)

I’ve been to Italy several times, but I’ve never been horse riding.

I really thought that a horse-riding trip in Tuscany would be nice.

I don’t know whether a day will come when I can take such a trip with like-minded horse friends,

But let me gently, quietly,

Keep this passionate thought in my heart!

Hoping for the day to come...
