After a long while, a holiday.
On a quiet Sunday morning, leisurely doing body stretching exercises and practicing breathing techniques,
it's fascinating how my spirit lifts. Nothing has changed, yet my heart feels elated.
The teacher of my breathing method often says that a large part of our brain is subconscious,
with only a tiny fraction being used consciously. (Hmm, interesting.) Thus, it's crucial to maintain a positive consciousness in life.
(Not dwelling on anxieties or complaints. It's vital to live in a way that doesn't feed such thoughts into our brain.)
Living with this mindset, it seems, gradually transforms the subconscious part of our brain.
I recall reading something similar in a book by Tenpu Nakamura.
Many predecessors must have also grappled with life, seeking ease of living.
Since understanding the relationship between body and mind, my life has indeed become more comfortable.
Living in an era filled with stress, we must find coping mechanisms that suit us. Once found,
sincerely pursuing these methods can enable a lifestyle relatively free from stress, in my view.
I say this as someone who, just a few years ago, was completely worn down, deeply engulfed in depression, enduring tough times.
That very experience made me earnestly delve into relaxing my body and practicing breathing techniques.
"No pain, no gain," as the old Japanese saying goes.
Now, as for today, I plan to sort through books, considering whether to:
- Take them to Book Off.
- Sell them on Mercari.
- Dispose of them as recyclable waste.
While I've made significant progress in sorting, my household member seems not to have begun. What to do with such a vast collection of books?
In a pinch, there's the option of taking them to a storage facility we use for document management,
but that would only postpone the problem, something I'd prefer to avoid.
Well, at least I'll try to get through sorting the documents for now.
