"The Well-Tempered Clavier by Bach and the Piano"

Last week, work at the office was particularly productive. As a result, my household member and I decided to dine out.

We enjoyed wine (only my household member, as I was driving), and the pleasant atmosphere led us to discuss the future of our home in

Kanagawa. Since our house is detached and each building is somewhat separated from the others, we decided to resume piano playing.

My piano skills are not particularly impressive. I had piano lessons as a child but have only managed to play the second movement of Beethoven's "Moonlight" Sonata with some mistakes. My household member, having never taken piano lessons, ambitiously wants to play Bach's "Goldberg Variations" and "The Well-Tempered Clavier". Interesting...

We enjoyed such conversations over dinner.

Then, I remembered my college friend, F. I have heard his piano performances. He has been deceased for over 15 years now.

During a class reunion, I asked, "What pieces are you playing now?" To which F replied, "I'm currently playing Bach's The Well-Tempered Clavier."

It was a moment that brought back memories of F.

Bach's The Well-Tempered Clavier became a link between F and my household member...
