Last week, unexpectedly, I had the chance to watch the splendid equestrian skills of the children of the riding club's owner.
I felt lucky. Compared to that, my somewhat unreliable riding also had its good points, I think.
In such heavy ground conditions, there might not be many chances to ride like that...
Today, the lesson took place in the usual indoor arena. It was back to the normal, peaceful club without the youngsters.
With the ground stable, riding becomes easier for me. Just like skiing on powder snow makes me feel 20% better at it (at least in my case).
As instructed last time, I tried to distribute my weight 60% on the inside seat bone and 40% on the outside seat bone to initiate the canter. At first, I pushed with the outside leg to get the horse to start cantering, then supported with the inside leg while occasionally yielding the inside rein.
Today, I also remembered not to let my hand holding the reins rise up, but to drop it diagonally forward.
Overall, it seems my riding was fairly good. "You were riding better two or three years ago.
Let's work a bit harder to get back to that level of riding," I was told. But overall, it was excellent.
It feels great. Like I'm a kindergartner again. Double circle, ◎,
It feels wonderful.
