The instructor knows about my low muscle mass, so they don't even think about hurting me.
They suggested, "Maybe you can do one squat. Let's try for three."
Can I really do three squats?
This is a truly low-level conversation we're having. Sigh
I remember when I first started, the instructor told me, "When you get on the saddle, please spread your legs." But I just couldn't do it.
The instructor took my legs and tried hard to teach me how to do the splits.
Then, to teach me to keep my elbows in while holding the reins, they put their gloves under my arms. I couldn't dirty the instructor's gloves.
I tried hard to keep my elbows in, but I always dropped the gloves.
Thinking about it, the fact that I can enjoy horseback riding and even begin to learn dressage is almost a miracle.
My only skill is "not giving up" (though some might say I'm just stubborn).
Because I don't give up, the instructor sticks with me, and I realized that again today.
I'm sorry to be such a poor student, but I am truly grateful to my instructor.
