"I found out that National Route 1 is a congested road."

Lately, every weekend, I've been making trips to Kanagawa.

We've been repeatedly visiting homes for my mother-in-law and scouting locations for our upcoming move.

I didn’t know anything about the traffic situation in Kanagawa or the bustle of the Shonan area. So, I just kept driving,

obediently following the car navigation instructions.

However, belatedly, it occurred to me in my confused state: perhaps National Route 1 is a road prone to traffic jams.

On the way back, I tried using a different toll road. Unlike the coastal road, our car, Ai-chan, was running surprisingly smoothly.

We started feeling a bit hungry, and it seemed like Ai-chan also desired a charge. So, we decided to take a break at the Ebina Service Area, where three fast chargers were installed. Two were already in use, which seemed troublesome, but looking further, I found another available fast charger.

We used the 30-minute break effectively, having a light meal at the food court on the second floor.

Looking at the navigation, it seemed like we would reach home in less than an hour, so I drove on relieved. However, after passing Yoga, the closer we got to the city center, the worse the traffic became. I could feel the fatigue increasing.

Around Hako-zaki, every car was changing lanes, moving left and right. The Metropolitan Expressway was crowded with cars,

hardly living up to its name of being "express."

(Oh dear.)

I hope this task will be over soon.

The plan is to move by next spring...

I thought the day when the sea breeze would heal the tiredness of our bodies still seemed a long way off.
