Today is June 30th, marking the passing of half a year already.
I'm planning to attend the customary Nagoshi no Harae, the summer purification ritual.
I will pass through the Chinowa, a large ring made of cogon grass, to rid myself of the past half year's misfortunes.
I have been graciously permitted to go to the venerable Ishihama Shrine for this.
Unfortunately, the weather is not promising, but if it does not turn into a downpour by 6 pm, I should be able to pass through the Chinowa…
I sincerely hope that these precious Japanese traditional cultures continue to be preserved and passed down forever…
