Today, I had horse riding scheduled at 1 pm at the equestrian club I belong to. I went out to Mito using the Joban Expressway.
I've said it many times, but I love the Joban Expressway. (I feel like the accident rate is quite high. I wonder why?)
The road is well-maintained, and the number of cars on the road is much less compared to the Tokyo Expressway.
Crossing the Tone River, entering Ibaraki Prefecture, the scenery changes,
and it feels wonderful driving while glancing at the distant mountains.
My riding went well today. Last time, I couldn’t make the circle in ring riding well, but this time, I could immediately correct it
if the circle in ring riding was off.
I managed to maintain a consistent 20-meter circle in ring riding and also maintain the same size in cantering. Also, this horse tends to face left, so it is easier to take an inward posture when cantering to the left.
For the right canter, I consciously brought the horse's face to the right to take an inward posture.
It seems that some horses can be quite rebellious about this.
There was no rebellion, and the right canter went well too.
I could also continue cantering using the whole riding ground without the horse stopping.
It's not always like this, but today, it seemed like the breathing of the horse and rider were in sync.
I drove back on the Joban Expressway towards Tokyo feeling good, but the evening sun on the Joban Expressway was dazzling.
I was also tired, which made me want to close my eyes. Dangerous!
I played various songs at full volume to keep myself awake.
Somehow, I managed to get home safely!
Phew!"
