In the spring of this year, my eldest daughter moved from Tokyo to Zushi.
She seems to be living comfortably with her family, which is a great relief.
Recently, she suggested we reconsider our plan to relocate to the Boso Peninsula and instead consider the Miura Peninsula.
I'm hesitant to outright reject the idea, so I'm contemplating its merits.
Zushi is close to many amenities, and considering the future, it might make sense. However, I had been envisioning renovating an old single-story home and creating a garden filled with blooming Christmas roses.
Would we end up cultivating vegetables, like radishes, if we moved to the Miura Peninsula?
Today, I plan to purchase maps of both the Boso and Miura Peninsulas. I want to cross-reference with hazard maps to determine which
areas are suitable for housing.
Since this move is still 4-5 years away, there's ample time for thorough consideration. Everyone has different places that suit them best.
The best place for someone is where they feel it's right!
It's been an opportunity to reflect on why someone would want to live in a certain location.
My daughter sent a photo of herself horseback riding in the Miura Peninsula. Even though she's just a beginner, seeing that photo made my heart waver. Oh, the dilemmas!
