On the last day in Kauai, I've grown accustomed to the island's unique weather, where rain and sunshine alternate.
Even in the rain, people enjoy the hotel's pool.
Looking around leisurely, it seems most guests are Americans from the mainland. This is a top-rated hotel,
yet everyone is unpretentious, easygoing, and cheerful. Whether it's just a resort thing is unclear.
Such casualness is uncommon in Europe. There, even without expensive items, one's attire and behavior tend to have a distinct elegance.
I decided to visit the "Fern Grotto." According to our female guide, this sacred site was once exclusively
for Hawaiian royalty and nobility. A 30-minute boat ride from Wailua Marina,
we immerse ourselves in the leisurely flow of time and walk through a dense tropical forest to the grotto.
Covered in giant ferns, the grotto is mystical. We watched a graceful hula dance on its deck.
After the dance, my partner kissed me on the cheek. The guide mentioned it promised "eternal love."
(Unfortunately, I couldn't catch that conversation.)
We savored Hawaiian cuisine, specifically LauLau, a taro and ti leaf-wrapped steamed dish. It looked unappealing but was quite delicious.
Next, we planned to fly from Lihue Airport to Kona Airport on the Big Island, but things didn't go as smoothly as expected...
