Today is Culture Day.
I used to often attend tea ceremonies, such as those of the way of tea.
Dressing in a kimono by myself early in the morning, I would attend tea ceremonies held at hotels or shrines (such as Hie Shrine or Yasukuni Shrine) in Tokyo.
Even though they were large gatherings, with thin tea, thick tea, and kaiseki cuisine served, they required a considerable amount of time and energy.
Today, I plan to leisurely head out to CAVALLO Equestrian Park.
There is an exhibition to commemorate the 30th anniversary of its opening.
A Japanese painter who is a friend of mine from horseback riding circles has some works on display, so I'm thinking of going to celebrate.
Japanese paintings are known for their use of mineral pigments, different from oil paints.
The vast number of these pigments and their charming names, such as ultramarine, golden yellow, and rock orange,
are mesmerizing just to look at.
I wonder what kind of works will be on display.
In addition to the exhibition, there seems to be a booth for custom-made boots by Huse, so I might take a look.
I'm planning to meet up with two other friends from horseback riding and take a stroll around the Equestrian Park.
Spending Culture Day as a horse lover like this could be quite nice...
