"The accuracy of applying pressure with the calf on a horse."

Beginners might kick a horse to give commands like walk or trot, but as their skills improve, they're taught by instructors to stop kicking and instead give commands without it.

I think it's good to move up a level. But then, where exactly on my leg should I press the horse's body to communicate? I constantly wonder if this is the right spot, asking my horse with doubt.

In today's lesson, I finally understood the precise location for leg pressure (though it may vary for others).

When I applied pressure pinpointedly, the heavy horse started to move and gained momentum on its own. Also, while riding, my legs tend to slide, but I could stop this by lowering my armor with each step of the horse.

I've also gotten much better at controlling the reins, slightly extending them forward to increase propulsion and rounding the horse.

It might seem like mundane practice, but I've come to realize these small steps are essential for dressage.

I can see my progress, little by little.

It's very gratifying and I'm thankful.
