"Conductor Toshiyuki Inoue dancing"

On the first day of spring, it was a chilly day.

I went to the annual NHK Symphony Orchestra concert.

As someone who loves ballet, I was grateful for today's program,

including Johann Strauss II's polkas and Shostakovich's suite for stage orchestra, which were enjoyable.

What surprised me particularly was the conducting of Michiyoshi Inoue. He was comfortably dancing on the stage, sometimes conducting with his whole body in a pantomime-like manner without using a baton.

It's said that he will retire by the end of this year, so I was happy to have witnessed his conducting.

Also, it was great to hear the wonderful singing of the Orfei Drangar male choir, who came from afar.

And finally, hearing the violin of my favorite concertmaster, Sunao Goko, was immensely satisfying.

Such concerts, where both performers and the audience become one, naturally result in endless applause.

After a long time, my heart was warmed!
