I went out to a concert at Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall last night.
In the heart of the city, the concert was about to start, filled with a blend of fervor and madness.
I could feel the cool breeze of early summer on my skin, and I was intrigued about what kind of concert it was going to be.
In the center of the stage, there was a notably large gong.
As the gong began to reverberate, it signaled the beginning of the concert.
The audience at this concert seemed to be made up mostly of men in their 60s and 70s, with prominent white hair, creating a rather unique atmosphere. Many sported ponytails, giving off the vibe of former rockers. There were also some who, despite their fatigue, managed to hobble to their seats with the aid of canes. Among the women, there were even those who had come to the concert pulling oxygen tanks on carts.
Feeling the pleasant breeze on my skin was a testament to the charm of outdoor concerts!
With beers in hand, the old men swayed their bodies back and forth to the music, raising their hands, standing up…
When I tried to go to the restroom during the break, I was faced with a battalion of older men overflowing from the smoking area (it was hard to tell where the smoking area ended), blocking the entrance to the restroom as they smoked their cigarettes. What a situation!
The performance seemed to feature all early Pink Floyd songs, by a band that's quite well-known in Japan.
I was able to appreciate that the performance was indeed wonderful.
After a few hours outdoors, my body felt pleasantly tired.
After a light dinner, I headed home with Ai-chan (my electric car).
