The drive to the Shonan area was just traffic jams, and more traffic jams."

Yesterday, I went to the new house we're moving into, to make final decisions about the renovations.

I've known the renovation contractor for a long time. His wife and I have been like sisters since I was in kindergarten.

We've always been close, almost like real sisters, despite not being related by blood. I'm grateful for that.

We went to the same elementary school, middle school, and high school. I always seemed to be following in her footsteps.

For the first time, our paths diverged in college when she went to K Pharmaceutical University. Since I didn't want to be a pharmacist,

we went our separate ways in terms of career.

But even after that, we've continued our sister-like relationship. Now, her husband and eldest son run a renovation company,

which I've entrusted with the renovations of my new place in Kanagawa.

Yesterday, I was driven by her eldest son to the Shonan area. We took Route 1, enjoying the view of the sea on our left, although the traffic was terrible. Maybe it was because of the New Year's holiday.

The return journey was also congested, especially around the Hakozaki area.

We left at 8 am and returned at 8 pm. It was a long day, but fortunately, there were no accidents,

and we managed to finalize a rough plan for the renovations. I'm relieved.

Moving requires not only money but also time and effort. I want to create a comfortable space within our means.

Ultimately, we were persuaded by our eldest daughter to move to Kanagawa. As we age, I think it's wise to accept things and move forward.
